Example Activities

Gap in the Market

I created the Gap in the Market worksheet to help students identify unmet industry needs while building creativity and critical thinking. It also enhances data literacy by encouraging them to use evidence and research to justify their ideas.

Escape Room Activity 1

I designed the Escape Room game to make learning interactive and collaborative. The first puzzle, Pin the Tail on Butler’s Curve, challenged students to correctly place stages of the Tourism Area Life Cycle. Working in teams, they solved successive tasks to “escape” and earn their break, combining competition with applied learning.

Introduction to Data Science

I created the Coding Practice with AI worksheet to introduce tourism students to data science and Python in an accessible way. By using tourism data, it shows how AI can support analysis and problem-solving, helping students see what they can accomplish if they know how to frame the right questions.

Escape Room Activity 2

The second puzzle in the Escape Room game was a Tourism Impacts and Stakeholder Matching activity, where students had to correctly link different impacts with the stakeholders they affected. This encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and application of theory to practice as part of the challenge to “escape.”

Crossword Puzzle

I developed the crossword puzzle worksheets to make learning key definitions more engaging and memorable. Each puzzle uses real academic sources, with a full Harvard reference list included, so students reinforce both their subject knowledge and their understanding of proper academic practice.

Teach With Tech Presentation

I created the Teach with Tech presentation to showcase to administration, lecturers, and deans how we can integrate a variety of technologies into our classrooms. The goal was to demonstrate how using different tools can enhance student learning, improve engagement, and equip students with valuable digital skills for their future careers.
